During one summer of running this internship, a 1781 student created the Lindbot, a low-cost robotics platform that our team recognized as an opportunity to diffuse robotics education. 1781 refined the Lindbot into a scalable training tool and developed a course guide for CAD, 3D printing, mechanical assembly, and programming skills. The Lindbot is a training device that’s been added into our school’s curriculum. Our team has manufactured and distributed Lindbots to charge up hands-on learning and ensure that students of all backgrounds can develop foundational skills aligned with FIRST programs. 1781 actively promotes FIRST to the public.
